Nasarawa monarch donates pumping machines to boost dry season farming
The paramount ruler of Nunku Chiefdom in Akwanga- west Development Area of Nasarawa State, HRH, Alhaji Adamu Muhammad has donated four water pumping machines to farmers in his domain with a view to boost dry season farming.
The leadership of the Nunku Community Development Association (NCDA) organized the presentation ceremony of the machines on weekend, which held at the Nunku Multipurpose hall.
The chiefdom was grouped into four zones with each zone allocated a machine to be utilized on a rotational basis by villages in the zone.
The Madakin Nunku, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi, who represented the paramount ruler at the occasion, said the machines were part of the ten (10) promised by the traditional ruler.
Alhaji Abdullahi enjoined the farmers to make good use of the machines, by exploiting the available water in rivers in the chiefdom.
He assured that the paramount ruler will in no distant future provide the remaining six machines as promised.
Representatives of the four zones who collected the machines on behalf of their villages appreciated the gesture of the traditional ruler.
They also appealed to wealthy individuals in the chiefdom to emulate the traditional ruler.
The presentation ceremony was attended by elites, youths and women groups, all visibly excited and happy.
