The Commander, Sector 3 Artillery Brigade, Monguno, Brig.-Gen. Johnson Lar, has donated drugs and medical equipment to Monguno General Hospital in Borno.
A statement from Maj. Ojo Adenegan, Acting Deputy, Army Public Relations, Headquarters, Sector 3 Operation Hadin Kai, and Multinational Joint Task Force, Monguno, on Friday, said the gesture is one of the measures by the sector in improving Civil-Military relationship to win the heart of the populace in the area.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the Commander, Sector 3 of Operation Hadin kai and Multinational Joint Task Force, Maj.-Gen. Godwin Mutkut, said the move to support the hospital would enhance effective healthcare service delivery to the people of Monguno, particularly those displaced by insurgency.
Mutkut re-iterated the commitment of the sector to continue to do more, particularly in rendering medical services to the Community, through the Sector’s Medical Hospital Service in Monguno.
In his remarks, the commander, Sector 3 Artillery Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Johnson Lar, lauded support from the Mutkut leadership which, he said, has continue to encourage such measures to sustain cordial relationship between the military and communities in the area.
In his remarks, Lar thanked the Sector Commander for his exemplary Leadership, which has encouraged him to make this donation which is part of his Brigade’s Civil-Military Cooperation activities to the Monguno Community,” the statement said.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Monguno Local Government Area, Alhaji Kyari Ibrahim, lauded the sustained support from the army, saying it had gone a long way in ensuring security of lives and property of the people from insurgents.
Ibrahim assured the army of sustained support and collaboration from his council and the people of Monguno to succeed in clearing the area of insurgents.
Also speaking, the Chief Medical Officer of the hospital, Dr John Thliza, who assured judicious utilization of the items donated, lauded the army for the gesture, adding it would go a long way in improving services in the hospital.
Items donated include assorted drugs, Gauze rolls, cotton wool, injections, Normal and Dextrose Salines, Ringers lactate, and blood pressure testing machines, among others.
