Governor Kefas constitutes consensus committees across Taraba’s three political zones

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has approved the appointment of Consensus Committees for the Northern, Central, and Southern political zones of the state, following a high-level strategic meeting.

In a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Aaron Artimas, the committees have been mandated to engage aspirants within their respective zones as part of ongoing consultations aimed at building consensus ahead of party primaries.

For the Northern Zone, Senator Sani Danladi will serve as Chairman, alongside Hon. Danladi Baido, Hon. Aminu Jika, Alhaji Aminu Ibrahim, Hon. Linus Ibrahim, Rt. Hon. Hamidu Suleiman M/Ranewo, Hon. Ahmed Yusuf, Ambassador Jerry Manwe, and Rukaiya Adimbo.

In the Central Zone, Hon. (Barr.) Ibrahim Tukur El-Sudi has been appointed Chairman, with members including Hon. Simon Dogari, Hon. Abbas Kaura, Hon. Kabiru Jallo, Barr. G. T. Kataps, Senator Bashir Marafa Abba, and Madam Esther Yenda.

For the Southern Zone, Hon. (Dr.) Philip Duwe will chair the committee, supported by Hon. Istifanus Gbana, Hon. Abba Ade Ibbi, Hon. Ahidjo Musa, Prof. Dalhatu Sangari, Chief Ezekiel Afokunyo, Hon. (Dr.) Josiah Sabo Kente, Hon. Jemima Nwunuji, and Hon. James Ahmadu.

The statement noted that the appointments take immediate effect, with all committees expected to conclude their consultations and report back to the State Caucus by Thursday, May 8, 2026.

This is part of broader efforts to strengthen internal party cohesion and streamline the candidate selection process across Taraba State.
