No fewer than 200 residents of Yelwa area of Bauchi, on Saturday, received free medical attention from Doctors during a free medical outreach organized by Radiant Care Foundation, a Bauchi based humanitarian and service providing organization.
The beneficiaries of the free medical outreach included residents of Yelwa, Rafin Zurfi, Birshi Gandu, Gwallameji, Doka and other adjoining communities under the organization’s Project THRIVE 2.0, aimed at giving back to the society.
In her remarks, Executive Director of Radiant Care Foundation, Miriam Aliyu, explained that the outreach was to take care of the vulnerable and undeserved people in Bauchi State.
According to her, “Our area of focus includes healthcare support, humanitarian response, access to justice, rehabilitation, education and economic empowerment. At RCF, we believe that everyone deserves access to basic healthcare, dignity and the opportunity to live a better life.”
Miriam Aliyu added, “Our work is driven by compassion and the understanding that sometimes a little support can make a significant difference in someone’s life. As part of this commitment, we introduce Project Thrive 1.0, an initiative that brought our vision of community healthcare and humanitarian support closer to the people.”
She stressed, “It was an important step in our journey, reinforcing our commitment to reaching vulnerable individuals, promoting health awareness and making healthcare support more accessible to those who need it.”
The ED added, “Building on the experience and vision of our first outreach, we are proud to present Project Thrive 2.0. This represents our continued commitment to expanding our reach, improving community well-being, and touching more lives through meaningful healthcare interventions and humanitarian support.”
She explained that, “Project Thrive 2.0 is more than just another outreach. It is a reminder that our work must continue, that there are people who need our support, and that we all have a duty to ensure that they got the needed support and attention.”
In his overview, the Officer in Charge of the outreach, Ishaya Williams, explained that the Project THRIVE 2.0, a humanitarian medical outreach initiative of Radiant Care Foundation (RCF), was driven by a commitment to making essential healthcare more accessible to underserved and vulnerable members of our communities.
He added that, “Following the first edition of Project THRIVE, we are proud to continue this journey, building on the foundation we have laid and expanding our efforts to make a meaningful difference in more lives.”
He also stated that, “Through this initiative, we aim to provide essential healthcare services, including basic medical screening, malaria testing and treatment, vital signs and blood glucose checks, medical consultations, and prescribed medications based on clinical assessment.”
Ishaya Williams added,”We will also support malaria prevention through the distribution of Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs). Beyond these services, Project THRIVE 2.0 represents something greater than a medical outreach. It reflects our belief that healthcare is not merely about treating illnesses but also about promoting dignity, encouraging early detection, preventing avoidable complications, and helping individuals and communities live healthier lives.”
According to him, “Our goal is to bring healthcare closer to those who need it, identify common health conditions early, provide appropriate treatment, and facilitate referrals for beneficiaries who require further medical attention.
We recognise that initiatives like this cannot succeed without collective effort. We are deeply grateful to our healthcare professionals, volunteers, partners, and supporters whose time, resources, and dedication have helped make this vision possible.”
“As we embark on this second edition, we are reminded that meaningful change often begins with small but deliberate acts of service. Every consultation, every test conducted, every mosquito net distributed, and every person reached represents another step towards a healthier community,” he added.
He stressed, “At Radiant Care Foundation, we believe that the true measure of impact is not simply how many people we reach, but how meaningfully we improve their lives. As we begin today’s activities, we hope that Project THRIVE 2.0 will strengthen our commitment to compassionate service, inspire further collaboration, and contribute to a future where access to essential healthcare is not a privilege but an opportunity for all.
Once again, thank you for being part of this initiative. Together, let us continue to bring care closer, create lasting impact, and build healthier communities—one life at a time.”
The medical outreach services rendered included vital signs and blood pressure checks, blood glucose screening, malaria RDT screening, medical consultation and assessment, treatment and prescription where indicated and medication dispensing.
There were goodwill messages from sister NGOs including Kairos Initiative, Dunamis Church, PFN, PPC and other stakeholders in the health sector.
