Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Simon Bako Lalong, has felicitated with Professor Garba Sharubutu, former Executive Secretary of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN) and member of the Board of Trustees of the African Agricultural Technology Foundation (AATF), on the occasion of his birthday.
Senator Lalong described Professor Sharubutu as an accomplished scholar, administrator and development expert whose contributions to agricultural research, innovation and policy development have significantly advanced Nigeria’s agricultural sector and enhanced food security efforts across the country.
The Senator noted that throughout his distinguished career in public service, Professor Sharubutu demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism and commitment to national development, particularly during his tenure as Executive Secretary of the Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria, where he championed initiatives that strengthened agricultural research institutions and promoted the adoption of modern technologies by farmers.
He also commended the celebrant for continuing to contribute to agricultural transformation and sustainable development through his current role on the Board of Trustees of the African Agricultural Technology Foundation, where he brings his vast experience to bear in advancing agricultural innovation across the continent.
Senator Lalong further acknowledged Professor Sharubutu as a close confidant, trusted associate and dependable friend whose counsel, support and commitment to the progress of society have remained invaluable over the years.
