PDP clears all Adamawa LG chairmanship, councillorship seats

Adamawa state opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won all the 21 chairmanship and 226 councillorship seats in the Saturday Local Government Election.

The Chairman, Mohammed Umar Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), declared the results on Monday in Yola, the state capital.

Announcing further, that the PDP worned all the 226 councillorship seats across the state’s wards. He said the results were confirmed after the final collation of votes from the 21 local government areas.

His words, “Following the final collation of results, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won all the 21 chairmanship seats contested in the state.

“The party also won all the 226 councillorship seats across the wards, while the election was conducted peacefully.”

The ADSIEC chairman however said that, although 11 political parties initially indicated interest in participating in the election, but only four eventually took part in the excercise.

Mohammed Umar gave list of the participated parties as follows, People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) All Progressives Congress (APC), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC).
