Senator Lalong pays last respects to elder statesman Miskoom Yilbial, condoles Namu chiefdom

Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong, has paid his last respects to elder statesman, Late Miskoom Pius Nkup Yilbial, who passed on at the age of 88.

Senator Lalong attended the funeral service held at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, Namu, Qua’an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State, where he joined family members, friends, community leaders and well-wishers in celebrating the life and legacy of the deceased.

The Senator commiserated with the Yilbial family and the entire people of Namu over the loss, describing the late elder statesman as a man of integrity, wisdom and service whose contributions to society will remain a lasting legacy for generations to come.

Speaking on behalf of the family, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North Central Development Commission, Dr. Cyril Yiltsen Tsenyil, said the late Miskoom Pius Nkup Yilbial, who was the most senior uncle in the family, played a pivotal role in mentoring and uniting family members through his exemplary lifestyle, transparency and positive impact on humanity.

Following the funeral service, Senator Lalong paid a condolence visit to the palace of the Long Jan of Namu, His Royal Highness Alhaji Safiyanu Allahnana, to sympathize with the traditional ruler over the demise of the elder statesman, who was a distinguished member of the ruling house.

The Long Jan expressed appreciation to Senator Lalong for his continued goodwill and commitment to the people of Namu, noting that the Senator has consistently identified with the community during both moments of celebration and periods of grief.

Senator Lalong prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the deceased and asked God to grant his family, the Namu community and all those affected by the loss the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
