Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested one 29 year old Sadique Abubakar Yusuf for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl in Guru village, along Bauchi-Jos road.
A statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, said that 45 years old father of the victim, reported that his nephew, Sadique Abubakar Yusuf, allegedly, lured his 14 years old daughter outside their residence and sexually assaulted her.
The statement said that police operatives promptly responded, arrested the suspect and took the victim to the police clinic for immediate medical attention.
It said that the suspect has been investigated and transferred to the state criminal investigation department, (SCID), Bauchi, for discrete, thorough investigation and subsequent prosecution.
“Bauchi State Police Command reiterates it’s zero-tolerance stance on crimes against minors and women.We Assure the public the matter will be handled with utmost professionalism, sensitivity, and in accordance with the law.
“Members of the public were encouraged by the CP, Mr Sani-Omolori Aliyu to continue to report any form of abuse or criminal activities to the nearest police station,” the statement added.
