The Basil Ganagana campaign organisation has paid tribute to Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori, his wife, Tobore and Sen. James Manager, former lawmaker who represented Delta South Senatorial District.
The commendation is contained in a message by Mr Chris Anthony, Chancellor of the campaign in Abuja on Tuesday.
Anthony on behalf of the organisation commended the governor, his wife and Manager for their roles in ensuring political inclusion in the federal constituency during the just concluded APC House of Representatives primaries.
He noted that history was often shaped by courageous leaders, principled stakeholders, selfless patriots, and ordinary people who rise in extraordinary moments to defend fairness, justice, and democratic inclusion.
“Today, the people of Patani Local Government Area and indeed the entire Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency stand at such a defining moment in our political history.
“The emergence of Basil Ganagana as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Bomadi/Patani Federal House of Representatives seat ahead of the 2027 elections represents more than a political victory.
“It is the triumph of fairness over exclusion, inclusion over stagnation, and democratic expansion over prolonged political closure.
“This historic achievement would not have been possible without the statesmanship, wisdom, courage, sacrifices, and democratic convictions of several distinguished individuals and groups whose commitment to justice and equity helped reshape the political future of our constituency.
“We profoundly appreciate and thank the governor of Delta, Sheriff Oborevwori and his beloved wife, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori for standing firmly as champions of democracy, fairness, political stability, and inclusive leadership.
“Their support, maturity, and commitment to democratic balance played a defining role in the emergence of Ganagana and the opening of a new chapter for Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency,” he said.
According to the Ganagana campaign chancellor, we especially salute the good people of Bomadi Local Government Area for their uncommon magnanimity, political maturity, brotherhood, and commitment to peaceful coexistence.
“In the spirit of fairness, equity, unity, and democratic inclusion, they graciously supported the decision for Patani Local Government Area to produce the next representative of Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency.
“History will forever remember this remarkable sacrifice and statesmanship. Given existing numerical realities and voting patterns within the constituency, such a historic political transition could not have happened without the goodwill, cooperation, and support of the Bomadi people.
“We recognise the elders, political leaders, opinion moulders, stakeholders, youths, women, and community leaders of Bomadi Local Government Area who courageously passed and supported the resolution that Patani should be given the opportunity to produce the next House of Representatives member for the constituency.
“We also express deep appreciation to Sen. James Manager, a true hero of democracy, whose strategic guidance, stabilising influence, political maturity, and unwavering commitment to peace and democratic progress contributed immensely to this historic outcome.”
Anthony further lauded his associates and supporters as well as the local government chairman.
He noted that throughout the democratic process, the council chairman’s conduct reflected courage, responsibility, and commitment to democratic principles.
“His role as a dependable democrat and bridge-builder will not be forgotten.We also pay glowing tribute to Alaere Odisi, the amazon who stood courageously like Esther for her people.
“In moments when silence would have been easier, she chose courage. In moments when compromise would have been convenient, she chose principle.
“Fearless, resolute, and unwavering in her pursuit of fairness, equity, and justice, she became one of the strongest voices of democratic liberation and political inclusion within the constituency.
“Her courage inspired many and her place in this historic struggle is firmly secured.
“We salute the great electorate, party faithful, grassroots mobilisers, youths, women, community leaders, and ordinary citizens who stood strongly and peacefully for democracy, leadership expansion, political inclusion, and the future of Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency.
“Your resilience, courage, patience, and democratic resolve have collectively ushered in a new political dawn for our people.
“Today, hope has been renewed. Today, there is more democratic space.Today, fairness has prevailed.Today, a new chapter has begun.Indeed, this is the dawn of a new day in Bomadi/Patani Federal,” Anthony concluded.
