The Lion is Back: South Ibie is Liberated

In a resounding victory for justice, tradition, and communal integrity, His Royal Highness Oba Kelvin Aliyu Danesi II has been reinstated as the authentic Aidonogie of South Ibie Kingdom. The Edo State Executive Council’s decisive revocation of Umoru Inusa Umoru’s controversial appointment and the reaffirmation of Oba Danesi’s rightful position mark a critical triumph against political manipulation and institutional overreach.
For too long, South Ibie’s sacred traditional institution faced destabilization through politically motivated interference, as Oba Danesi himself highlighted. The reinstatement not only corrects this injustice but also reinforces the principle that traditional leadership must remain insulated from partisan agendas. This decision aligns with CAACASVI’s mandate to combat corruption and uphold accountability in governance.
Oba Danesi’s return reaffirms the community’s cultural heritage and fosters unity among South Ibie’s indigenes, who had endured unnecessary turmoil. His appeal for calm during the crisis exemplifies leadership rooted in wisdom and compassion – qualities essential for grassroots development. By standing firm against illegitimate power grabs, Edo State has set a precedent for respecting traditional institutions as pillars of societal cohesion.
As we celebrate this victory, CAACASVI urges continued vigilance against attempts to undermine traditional or democratic processes. The people of South Ibie now have a renewed opportunity to pursue progress under legitimate leadership, free from the shadows of corruption and social vices. Let this moment inspire broader reforms to protect Nigeria’s cultural and governance institutions from exploitation.
Long Live the Lion, Long Live South Ibie!
