Matawalle, Yari receive Zamfara West NNPP Senate, 3 Reps candidates into APC

The Zamfara West Senatorial  and three House of Representatives candidates of the Nigerian National Peoples Party (NNPP), have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the defectors were received by Gov. Bello Matawalle and former governor of the statez Abdul’aziz Yari at the APC governorship campaign rally in Maradun town, Maradun Local Government Area of the state.

The defectors include:
Alhaji Abdul’malik Adamu.
NNPP Senatorial candidate, Zamfara West and Alhaji Mustapha S-Na’Allah, NNPP House of Representatives candidate for
Anka Talata-Mafara Federal Constituency.

The other defectors were: Kasim Faru and Sunusi Gummi, NNPP Reps candidates for
Bakura-Maradun and
Gummi-Bukuyum Federal Constituencies, respectively, as well as Abdullahi Aminu.

The NNPP Chairman of Talata Mafara Local Government who doubles as the Chairman of NNPP LGs Chairmen Association in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Aminu was among the defectors.

Matawalle commended them for joining the APC, and assured that they would be treated like other party members.

According to him, the defection of NNPP federal lawmakers candidates to APC was an indication of the party’s victory in the forthcoming polls.

The governor also lauded the people of Maradun town, Maradun for coming out en masse to welcome APC campaign train.

He urged them to continue to support the APC-led administration and ensure that they vote for APC at all levels.

Matawalle described the reconciliation between APC stakeholders in the state as a blessing not only to the party, but to the entire people of the state.

“As we all know, my administration, since its inception, we have been giving more concern to security and peace and stability of the citizens.

“If re-elected for a second term, I will continue to do my best to
improve security sector, promote education, health, empowerment and general welfare of our people”, the governor vowed.

In his remarks,  Yari, who doubles as the  Chairman, APC governorship  campaign council in the state, commended the large turn out of APC supporters at the rally.

“We are very happy with what we have seen today in Maradun.

“We are not surprised what we have seen today in Maradun, because is a home of APC and home of governor Matawalle,” Yari added.

He assured that APC, if re-elected, would continue to execute meaningful development projects across the state.

Another former governor of the state, Alhaji Mahmud Shinkafi, urged the people of the state to vote for APC at levels.

Shinkafi said the former governors of the state were united in one party to move the state forward.

“More meaningful development projects are on the way for the betterment of the people especially at grassroots, if APC is re-elected at both national and state levels.

“People of the state should also remain united and continue to support government in addressing security challenges,” Shinkafi said.
