Sen. Godswill Akpabio’s new senatorial ambition has gotten yet another major boost, as the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), have decided to mobilize for his electoral victory in the forthcoming elections.

Making the pledge in Abuja, the National President of NYCN, Comrade Solomon Adodo said the entire youth council was favourably disposed to the candidature of Sen. Akpabio whom he described as a man who has surpassed the expectations of the youths in his state and beyond.

While playing host to a coalition of youth groups and young professionals from Akwa-Ibom state who paid a courtesy visit on him in his office, Comrade Adodo thanked them for identifying with the visionary leadership strides of Sen. Akpabio, describing them as worthy ambassadors of the state as well as those who don’t think about the next election but the next generation.

The NYCN President lauded Sen. Akpabio for being the torchbearer of the next generation and embarking on constructive and impactful programmes, projects and activities that have lifted many people out of poverty.

“For us at the NYCN, the Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio is a household name. It is the recognition of his rare but sterling qualities, leadership capabilities, track record of selfless service to humanity, uncommon transformation of institutions, pacesetting initiatives and an incorruptible administrative acumen that we have always been there for him.

“We have consequently institutionalized the Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio Leadership and Youth Mentorship Annual Summit/Lecture to propagate this great leader and to project such quality leadership abilities as part of deliberate efforts to pass down the information to the generations yet unborn. We will continue to celebrate him.

“This time around too, we are going to do nothing different. We are going to team up with all of you, whom we know as ambassadors of the youths in the state and beyond, in order to actualize his mandate. I thank you for identifying us as worthy partners in this regards.

“We want to also use this opportunity to celebrate his well deserved victory at the Supreme Court in which an attempt to steal his mandate was reversed. The judiciary has truly proven again to be our last hope as citizens of this great country.

Earlier in his address, the leader of the delegation, Barr. Aniekeme Obot said they were approaching the youth organisation to use its far-reaching network to attract support for Sen. Akpabio in view of his transformational records and the need to ensure that only credible leaders that have the interest of the people at heart man such sensitive positions.

The delegation which also comprised of loyal party men and women who said, Sen. Akpabio is best suited for the job, having been tested in the past in several capacities which he surpassed everybody’s expectations. Adding that the uncommon projects he executed during his time has inspired many governors today to embark on pwople oreitned projects as proof for their stewardship.
