Bauchi, Sept. 22, 2021 (NAN) Mrs Jenifer Dashe the Managing Director, Bauchi state office of an NGO, International Alert, has advocated an all-inclusive peace policy toward overcoming the myriad of security challenges in the country.
Dashe made this suggestion in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Wednesday.
She said that the need for government at all levels to carry everybody along was imperative toward lasting peace and stability.
She explained that training of women on social inclusion and empowerment would also bring about rapid socio-economic development in the society.
She noted that women constituted a greater percentage of Nigeria’s population hence the need to always involve them in identifying areas of challenges and how to resolve them.
“Women and children are the most affected in conflict situations,” she noted while calling for greater women participation and inclusion in decision making process.
She said that authorities needed to ensure equal representation in all policies and programmes.
She advocated elimination of all existing barriers and landmines working against women participation in peace process and social inclusion in their respective domains. (NAN)
