The calls for Governor Bello to run for President office a clarion call
The tale of the Nigerian youth, vis-à-vis, the political terrain in Nigeria is nothing to write home about. Over the years, the arguments have been that no country can make meaningful progress without its young people, not only because of their strength or population but for their ability to think outside the box with new innovation, and carry on with the mantle of leadership.
Young people are exceptional with technology, and given the opportunity, they will use their wealth of knowledge to grow the economy of the country. However, there is a cloud of uncertainty hanging over the future of the Nigerian youths.
Many people in position of power today had access at their youthful age, to opportunities that have led them to where they are today. The young people today, should therefore be guided through the rudiments of governance in order to take on the baton of leadership in the future.
Recently, in the annals of our political life, the political elite came up with the not too young to run bill that was signed into law. The idea was to allow our young people to be part of participatory governance. We are not sure if the bill has been made manifest. Our past elections bear ample examples to the fact that our young people have not been given their rightful place in the county’s political firmament.
The price of obtaining the political parties’ candidacy form is exorbitant, to the extent that only ‘money bags’ or well to do individuals can afford them. Party primaries and elections bear humongous cost and are no child’s play, which does not allow a level playing field for the young people in the society. This calls for sober reflection on the future of the young people, who are so neglected in their prime.
The emergence of Governor Yahaya Bello in this seeming state of hopelessness and helplessness in the state of the Nigerian youth is a shining beacon in the dark political tunnel of uncertainty. The call for Governor Yahaya Bello to run for the office of President in 2023 is a clarion call for help by the Nigerian youths and women who have watched his antecedents over time and have come to the conclusion that he is the one to carry the baton of change that we all yearn for.
There are lots of evidences to show that young people are hungry for a change in status quo. The recent protest nationwide was a cry for help and a cry for change by a young population who are not appreciated and who are emotionally drained and demoralised by the system. The country will witness more protest if concrete and immediate steps are not taken to address the marginalization of the young people in the country today.
Young men and women feel that they have been short changed and or abandoned in every endeavour of the National life that could transform their lives. This is why we need a Yahaya Bello who will come as the long awaited panacea to a malingering debacle
A Yahaya Bello presidency will rescue the youths from perpetual and perennial neglect. Alh. Yahaya Bello will recognise talents and activate them for National development, peace, security, prosperity, and justice for all. This is our yearnings and aspirations as Nigerians and for all those who crave the Nigeria that was envisioned by our founding fathers. We can achieve this together, by supporting Governor Yahaya Bello to become the President of Nigeria, come 2023.
As young people, we should speak with one voice to garner support and the strength needed to breakthrough the political rigmarole and topsy turvy that we are experiencing now, to politically move our nation to a better future. This is achievable with Yahaya bello Presidency.
