Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has said his administration will seek the people’s support for another term based on its record of achievements, rather than making fresh promises.
Governor Radda stated this on Thursday at the inauguration of APC Zalla Movement coordinators across the 34 Local Government Areas and 361 wards, held at People’s Square, Katsina, to strengthen the APC’s grassroots structures under the leadership of Dr. Bala Nuhu Kankia.
Speaking at the event, Governor Radda said the administration’s achievements across the state had placed it in a strong position to approach the electorate with a record of performance.
“Today, the people are no longer looking only at promises. In the next election, we will show the people what we have done, not make new promises,” Governor Radda said.
The Governor noted that development projects had reached communities across the state, stressing that virtually every constituency had benefited from one intervention or another by his administration.
“In all the 361 constituencies in Katsina State, there is no constituency without projects from this administration,” he said.
Governor Radda described the inauguration as an important step towards strengthening cooperation between the APC Zalla Movement and existing party structures.
He urged the newly inaugurated leaders to remain committed, self-reliant and focused, while working closely with APC stakeholders to strengthen the party at the grassroots.
The Governor also tasked the organisation with sustaining its sensitisation and awareness campaigns, particularly by taking information about government programmes and projects directly to communities across the state.
He assured the organisation of his administration’s support and announced that vehicles would be provided to its three zonal structures to facilitate their activities and grassroots mobilisation.
Governor Radda further urged party leaders and supporters to work collectively to protect and strengthen the mandate entrusted to the administration by the people.
“We will continue to do everything possible to fulfil the mandate we have received from the people. I urge all of us to support this initiative and work together for its success,” he said.
The Governor expressed confidence in the political leadership of the state, saying his administration remained focused on its responsibilities and would continue to rely on Almighty Allah for guidance and success.
He also commended the late Dr. Bala Nuhu Kankia for establishing the organisation and his efforts towards strengthening the party’s political structures.
Governor Radda said extending the organisation’s activities to the local government and constituency levels would further enhance grassroots mobilisation.
Earlier, former Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, urged the newly inaugurated leaders to remain committed to the success of the APC at all levels.
He said a strong and stable party structure would support the continued implementation of development programmes across the state.
Also speaking, Katsina State APC Chairman, Hon. Bishir Gambo Saulawa, commended the late Dr. Bala Nuhu Kankia for establishing the organisation, describing it as a platform for strengthening the party and promoting awareness of the achievements of Governor Radda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He urged the newly inaugurated local government and constituency chairmen to work closely with APC leaders and strengthen the party’s grassroots structures
On his part, Director-General of the APC Zalla Movement, Dr. Bala Nuhu Kankia, Sadaukin Kankia, thanked Almighty Allah for the inauguration of the organisation’s leadership across the 34 Local Government Areas and 361 constituencies.
He said the organisation would promote APC policies and programmes while creating awareness of government projects and achievements across Katsina State.
Dr. Kankia said the movement would take information on projects and interventions, including the Community Development Programme (CDP) and KASEDA, as well as initiatives in health, education, agriculture and security, directly to the grassroots.
He commended Governor Radda for his development efforts across urban and rural communities and pledged the organisation’s support in communicating the administration’s achievements to the people.
