A billion naira can’t make me shave my beard, says Nigerian Afrosonic musician
Dr Leo Fadaka, a 73 year-old afrosonic musician and sociopolitical activist says not even a billion naira incentive can make him shave his long beards and dreadlocks.
Dr Fadaka stated this in an exclusive interview with Aluta news at Ibilo, Edo State.
According to Fadaka, beards make him stand out as a humanist, adding that he intends to keep that identity by remaining unshaven for the rest of his life.
The alumni of Obafemi Awolowo university, Institute of African studies, said he drew his inspiration from great spiritual leaders, such as Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who kept long beards.
According to him, most of those who shave their beards are liars, lack integrity, deceitful and often mislead humanity because of the love of material things.
He, however, said that money and other material things of this world were vanity, and so were worthless to him.
Fadaka, who said he started sporting a goatee and dreadlock during his university days in Ife, Ondo State, as a show of solidarity with proponents of humanist, claimed that he had not shaved for the past 40 years.
The Afrosonic beat legend therefore encouraged Nigerians to preach, act and share love because that was the essence of human existence.
Aluta News reports that Fadaka, who has produced more than 50 musical tracks, is currently the Executive Director, Centre for Africa Project, an NGO.

The centre seeks to sensitise youths on the dangers of drug abuse, and the beauty and dignity of being off the streets.
