The Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency Simon Bako Lalong, has congratulated Rev. Fr. Godfrey Gopep on the occasion of his 15th anniversary of priestly ordination.
Senator Lalong described the milestone as a celebration of God’s faithfulness and a testament to Fr. Gopep’s commitment to his divine calling, the propagation of the Gospel of salvation, and the mission of leading people to Christ.
The Senator recalled with fondness the period when Rev. Fr. Gopep served as Chaplain of the Government House Chapel in Jos during his administration as Governor of Plateau State under the Rescue Administration. He noted that the priest’s spiritual guidance and dedication to his pastoral responsibilities contributed to the spiritual life of the Government House community.
Lalong commended Fr. Gopep for remaining steadfast in his vocation and dedicating his life to the service of God and humanity. He observed that the priesthood requires sacrifice, humility, discipline, and unwavering faith, particularly in a world that needs spiritual direction, moral guidance, and the message of hope and salvation.
He expressed confidence that the anniversary would inspire Rev. Fr. Gopep to continue serving God with renewed zeal, touching lives through his ministry, and advancing the values of love, peace, compassion, and reconciliation.
Senator Lalong prayed that Almighty God would continue to strengthen Fr. Gopep, grant him good health and wisdom, and bless his ministry with greater spiritual accomplishments as he continues to win souls for Christ.
He wished the celebrant many more fruitful years in the vineyard of the Lord and encouraged him to remain faithful to his calling and the sacred responsibilities entrusted to him.
