The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. Abubakar Kyari, has lauded the leadership of the National Organizing Committee of the National Groundnut Value Chain West African Summit 2026 for coming together as a united front.
The Minister while warmly receiving the leadership of the delegation, National President of the National Groundnut Producers, Processors and Marketers Association of Nigeria (NGROPPMAN), Alh. Abdulrazaq Usman Muhammad, accompanied by the National Secretary, Alh. Mustapha Mohammed and others, in his office, assured the committee of the full support and partnership of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security towards the successful hosting of the Summit and the revival of the groundnut sector.
The meeting, which could be described as an emergency but was filled with smiles, optimism and shared vision, centred on the revival of Nigeria’s lost glory in groundnut production and processing, from the historic Kano Groundnut Pyramids to a new Billion ($) Groundnut Economy.
The leader of the delegation presented the concept for the Nigeria Groundnut Revival & Industrialization Project and PLANS activities for the West African Groundnut Round Table Summit, 2026 scheduled for November 2026 at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The delegation left the Minister’s office with high spirits, great anticipation and renewed confidence that indeed, Nigeria’s groundnut pyramids will return bigger and in different ways.
