A Coalition of Concerned People of Bauchi State and other African Democratic Congress (ADC) Support Groups in support of the ADC Gubernatorial Candidate, Sen Halliru Dauda Jika, has raised 10,000 volunteers to engage in campaigns across the State.
The disclosure was made during a press conference held on Friday at the conference hall of the Correspondents Chapel, by the coalition.
The coalition also urged people of the State to shun and resist any form of vote buying in the 2027 general elections in order to have a free, fair and credible election.
Leader of the Coalition, Hon Ahmed Yero, said that the call became apparent considering that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in line with electoral regulations, has lifted the ban on general campaigns for the 2027 general elections, effective 9th September 2026.
According to him, “Hence, as a reminder, there is a need for this noble coalition and members of the ADC and the indigenes of Bauchi State to rise, participate, and exercise their civic rights by joining us to make Bauchi great.*
He also called on the people of the State to exercise their civic responsibility by casting their votes for the Gubernatorial Candidate, Halliru Dauda Jika without considering any material gain from those who treat vote buying as business as usual.
According to him, “Distinguished Senator Halliru Dauda Jika assures the people of Bauchi State of his commitments to restoring the good image of the State, particularly in the areas of security, education, health, business, and the general welfare of the people, including persons with special needs youth, women and widows.”
Leader of the Coalition added that,”It is also an established fact that Distinguished Senator Halliru Dauda Jika is one of the candidates and the most popular among them. We therefore find it necessary to reiterate to the good people of Bauchi State that they should give him their support in his quest to rescue the State and meet its long-standing need for good governance and purposeful leadership.”
He added, “Distinguished Senator Halliru Dauda Jika is currently undergoing rigorous consultations and heart-to-heart engagements with the people, the State elders, women and youths on how best to provide an effective governance in 2027 if elected.”
He further assured that Halliru Jika will be flaging off his campaign activities in the coming weeks. thus, calling on Bauchi State youths, men, and women to come out en masse to join the movement as volunteers and participate at various levels of the electioneering processes.
Ahmed Yero stressed, “We are mobilising about 10,000 volunteers in order to ensure the election of Halliru Jika as Governor of our State. They will be going round to sensitize the people on the programmes of the ADC and the Gubernatorial Candidate.”
He also solicited the support of the mass media to help amplify the voices of the Gubernatorial Candidate during the electioneering period and to give him their maximum support.
