The Executive Chairman, Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Faruku Aliyu Taro Enabo, says the organization has registered over 95% of intending pilgrims for 2027 Pilgrimage besides remitting over N21billion for the religious rites to National Hajj Commission of Nigeria
While addressing a visiting delegation from NAHCOM in Birnin Kebbi, the Chairman revealed that the statistics showed the State topped the chart nationwide in that regard, attributing the success and speed to the unquantifiable support received from Governor Nasir Idris.
He urged pilgrims who made initial deposit of N5million to urgently complete payments within the next few days to beat the deadline of 26th September, 2026, for the closure of registration set by the Saudi Arabian authorities.
Enabo said as part of strict compliance with stipulated health guidelines, the Agency had spread the screening of intending pilgrims across local government areas, zones as well as the Agency’s premise’s to ensure their medical fitness and guard against deportation of those with commutable diseases
Welcoming the team, Governor Nasir Idris said: “My administration will continue to provide the necessary support to consolidate on the achievements recorded, and strengthen cooperation with NAHCON for smooth conduct of the Hajj exercise.
“Consequently, the administration has made it a policy to sustain the free payment of sacrificial animals, ‘Hadaya’ for all Pilgrims from Kebbi to lessen the cost of the religious rites on them”.
The Leader of the delegation, NAHCON National Commissioner in charge of the North West, Dr. Muhammad bn Usman, said NAHCON recognized the efforts of Governor Nasir Idris for doing a marvelous job for the success of last year’s Hajj, where the state recorded the largest number of pilgrims in Nigeria, and displayed spotless conduct from the pilgrimage.
