The Christians in Politics (CIP) has received with grief, anger and utter dismay the report of a coordinated attack on the peaceful community of Naridon of Kamaru Ward in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State on 27, July 2026.
In this wicked assault, 28 innocent Christians were gruesomely murdered in cold blood, 3 others sustained injuries, while houses and provision shops were set ablaze.
Those killed include: Geoffrey Monday, Maria Pius, Ladi Monday, Tabawa Monday, Guntu Balla, Enock Balla, Markus Gashi, Mariyamu Joseph, Maria Istifanus and Nuhu Bulus.
Others are Bulus Markus, Ayalla Markus, Monday Danladi, Kaka Umaru, Gundumi Umaru, Joy Ali, Dominion Danladi, Danladi Ibrahim, Mama Ibrahim, Deborah Emmanuel, Friday Emmanuel and Yusuf Emmanuel.
The rest are Yunana Emmanuel, Irimiya Emmanuel, Pheobe Markus, Saviour Monday, Audi Musa and Sunday Yakubu.
Among the injured are Comfort Monday, Success Monday and James Emmanuel while houses and four provision shops belonging to Hosea Garba, Emmanuel Garba, Luka Ahmadu, Monday Markus, and Dogo Rana were destroyed.
In a statement by
National Coordinator of
Christians in Politics (CIP), Nigeria, Dr. Shallangwa Hassana, it vehemently condemns this act of terror deliberately targeting innocent men, women and children describing it as evil, ungodly and a gross violation of the right to life and freedom of worship guaranteed by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The CIP called on the Federal and Kaduna State Governments to immediately deploy adequate security forces to Kamaru Ward and ensure the perpetrators are fished out and prosecuted, demand immediate humanitarian intervention for the displaced, injured and bereaved families, urged security agencies to rise to their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property without bias and called on all Nigerians to shun violence and embrace peace as we seek justice through lawful means.
The CIP also extended its deepest condolences to the families of the victims, the Church in Kauru, and the good people of Kaduna State praying God comfort them and may the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
As a body, CIP explained that it remains committed to praying for the nation and partnering with government to ensure justice, peace and good governance for all Nigerians.
