Card carrying members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and other stakeholders of the party in Bauchi State have been reminded that the time for contest is over with the conclusion of the party primaries and emergence of candidates for all elective offices in the 2027 general elections.
They have therefore been called to unite and let anyone forgive, reconcile, mobilize, and move forward together toward a brighter future for Bauchi State and Nigeria.
The assertion was made by a group known as M.A. Abubakar Grassroots Mobilisation Project in a statement jointly signed by leaders of the group made available to Journalists on Monday, calling for collective commitment to the APC’s victory in the State.
The statement was signed by the Chairman of the Coalition, Dr. Sunusi Magaji, the Secretary, Prof. Ahmed Garba Salisu and other supporting members including Dr. Sulaiman Malami, Shamsuddeen Lukman Abubakar, Bar. Umar Faruq Ahmed Gwadabe and Shamsuddeen M. Salihu.
They particularly congratulated the former Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN on his emergence as the APC Governorship Candidate of Bauchi State describing his emergence as a demonstration of the confidence reposed on the need for continuity, leadership, experience, capacity, and unwavering commitment to the development of Bauchi State and the advancement of the great party, APC.
As a dedicated project, they firmly committed to the success of the APC and called on all party members to recognize that the primary election process has come to an end and that the task before now is the greater challenge of securing victory for the APC in the forthcoming general election.
According to the group, “The primary election may have produced different outcomes for various aspirants and their supporters, but it must not divide them. Democracy thrives on competition, and every aspirant who participated contributed immensely to strengthening party internal growth and development.”
Therefore they urged all party members to rally behind the governorship candidate and work collectively towards a common goal.
They further argued that the APC family in Bauchi State must remain ever united, focused, and determined than before, so that they can confront other flagbearers in the general election.
The group posited that, “Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, is human and therefore bound to make occasional omissions, during his first tenure in office, he performed well as a Governor and ofcourse with some challenges here and there. This is not time for lamentation, lets give him second chance to lead Bauchi State. This time around, Bauchi State is going to witness transformational development that shall forever remain in the history of the state.”
The group reiterated that they are hopeful, that by 2031, M.A. Abubakar’s tenure would be described as one of the best for Bauchi State.
“We also call for forgiveness, understanding, and genuine commitment among all stakeholders. Understandably, the primary election may have left some members dissatisfied. However, this is the time to put aside personal grievances, political differences, and past misunderstandings in the greater interest of their party and the benefits of the state,” it stressed.
According to the group,”The sacrifices required to build a winning political movement can only be achieved through unity, tolerance, and mutual respect. The ultimate aim is to clinch to victory, and that is only possible when we remain united and committed to the course of seeing the success of Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN and all other flagbearers of APC across the state. It is not time for defection. It time for reconnection and joining hands together for victory. “
The M.A. Abubakar Grassroot Mobilisation Project therefore urged all APC leaders, elders, youths, women groups, support organizations, and grassroots mobilizers to close ranks and embrace one another as partners in a common mission.
The M.A. Abubakar Grassroot Mobilisation Project therefore commits itself to promoting Party Unity and Reconciliation across all wards, local governments, and senatorial zones of Bauchi State and mobilizing Grassroots Support for the APC, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Governorship Candidate, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN.
It will also strengthen Voter Engagement and Political Awareness through sustained outreach and community engagement as well as supporting the transformation Agenda of Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar by advocating policies with clear visions that promote economic growth, quality education, improved health care, agriculture, infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment, security, and social improved welfare for employees and respect for traditional institutions among others.
They added that the Empowering Youths and Women to actively participate in governance, political leadership, and community development and capacity building of Stronger APC Structure leading to capable of delivering electoral victory at all levels in the state.
The M.A. Abubakar Grassroot Mobilisation Project then declared that it remains convinced that with unity of purpose, discipline, and collective commitment, the APC will emerge stronger and better positioned to reclaim Bauchi State for the benefit of all its citizens.
