In a stunning display of unity and commitment to the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, seven aspirants for the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship in Kuje Area Council have unanimously stepped down to support Hon. Danjuma Samuel Shekwolo.
The aspirants, who announced their decision at a press conference in Abuja, are Hon. Wodi Ibrahim, Emmanuel Musa Magaji, Yunusa Salihu, Moses Magaji, Bulus Samuel, Abubakar Dantani, and Hon. Hussaini Danlami Kuje.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Hon. Hussaini Danlami Kuje said the decision was reached after extensive consultations with party stakeholders and members of the public in Kuje Area Council. “We believe that Hon. Danjuma Shekwolo is the best candidate to lead our party to victory in the area council,” he said.
The aspirants described Hon. Shekwolo as an icon with vast political experience, exposure, and ideological footprint. They believe his service to humanity across the FCT sets him apart as a champion of the renewed hope agenda.
“We urge the people of Kuje to massively mobilize support for Hon. Shekwolo and join the movement for his election as the next executive chairman of Kuje Area Council,” the aspirants said in a statement.
The development is seen as a major boost to Hon. Shekwolo’s campaign, and a testament to his popularity and acceptability among the people of Kuje. With this endorsement, Hon. Shekwolo is poised to sail through to victory in the upcoming election.
The Kuje Area Council has been witnessing significant developments in grassroots initiatives, including the Kuje Football League, which aims to engage youths and stimulate socio-economic activities. The league has received support from local stakeholders and sponsors, and is seen as a platform for talent discovery and community development.
As the election approaches, the people of Kuje are eagerly anticipating the emergence of a leader who will drive development and progress in their area. With Hon. Shekwolo’s candidacy now strengthened by the support of the seven aspirants, it remains to be seen how the opposition will respond to this development.
