The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), has unveiled the Youth Run Campaign.
Dr Solomon Adodo, President of NYCN, who launched the campaign in Abuja on Tuesday, said the campaign was aimed at encouraging youths to rise and fight for the united Nigeria of their dream.
Adodo said the campaign would ensure massive mobilisation of Nigerian youths towards the 2023 election, by registering with INEC and obtaining their permanent Voters Card (PVC).
Speaking on the current political terrain, the youth leader lambasted political appointees for displaying open disdain for the institutions they were supritending.
He particularly criticised the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, for getting involved in partisan politics.
According to Adodo, Emefiele has denigrated a revered institution of government such as the CBN, by dragging it into partisan politics.
”We shall consult widely and take appropriate actions,” he said.
He also condemned what the described as the sabotage of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration by members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as other opposition political parties.
The youth leader accused politicians of working relentlessly to fan the embers of insecurity, disunity and disintegration of Nigeria.
He therefore, advised those in authority not to wait till 2023 before finding solutions to unemployment, insecurity and the quest for national cohesion.
He charged them to partner with relevant security agencies to seek solutions to the security challenges bedevilling the country.
He also advised youths to desist from dissident actions and activities of secessionists, terrorist and or other forms of anti-state actions that were posing threat to Nigeria’s collective peace.
He urged them to focus on national development and unity, saying that the Fulani, Igbo, Hausa or ijaw man, were not the enemies of Nigeria, but underdevelopment.
”Therefore, we must channel our energies to birth a greater Nigeria together,’: Adodo stated.
Aluta News reports that the youth run campaign is being powered by vintage management consultancy in collaboration with other youth development partners.
