Nigeria’s women cricket team on Tuesday lost their second Group B game to Kenya by eight wickets at the ongoing Kwibuka T20 Cricket Tournament in Rwanda.
Nigeria made an impressive run in the game scoring 108 runs as compared to 52 runs in her first game against Namibia on Sunday.
The match at the Gahanga International Stadium in Kigali saw the team coached by Onome Oghenekevwe winning the toss and electing to bat first.
Former captain Blessing Etim had 34 runs off 33 balls, as well as four boundary hits, and they came in handy as the West African side amassed 108 runs, with five wickets out in 20 overs.
Kenya’s Margaret Ngoche also limited Nigeria’s chances as she was responsible for the fall of two wickets.
The second innings saw the East African rivals score 109 runs, two wickets out in 18.1 overs.
Queentor Abel’s 40 runs off 53 balls and Veronica Abuga’s 33 runs in 36 balls faced ensured that the side had 11 balls left to clinch victory.
Nigeria take on hosts Rwanda at the same venue on Wednesday.
