Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has performed the groundbreaking for the modernisation of Dandume Market, aimed at improving trading facilities, boosting commercial activities and stimulating local economic growth.
The Governor performed the ceremony on Friday, shortly after the Tinubu–Dikko 2027 campaign rally at Dandume Local Government Secretariat.
Speaking at the rally, Governor Radda highlighted his administration’s achievements in grassroots development, agriculture, healthcare, education and economic empowerment.
He said the Community Development Programme (CDP) had strengthened grassroots participation by engaging traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth representatives and other stakeholders in identifying community needs and priorities.
On agriculture, he said the administration had sustained support for farmers and introduced interventions to strengthen livestock production and improve rural livelihoods.
In healthcare, Governor Radda recalled that the hospital requested by Dandume residents during his previous visit was now fully operational and providing medical services.
He also highlighted the construction of modern schools, expanded local and foreign scholarship opportunities, and the distribution of empowerment toolkits across the state’s 34 local government areas.
The Governor assured residents of continued efforts to strengthen security, improve public services and extend development projects to communities across the state.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Tinubu–Dikko 2027 Campaign, Arch. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, urged APC members and supporters to sustain unity, strengthen grassroots mobilisation and work collectively towards the party’s success in the 2027 general elections.
He also called for continued support for the development programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dikko Umaru Radda.
Also speaking, the Katsina State APC Chairman, Dr. Bishir Gambo Saulawa, commended Dandume residents for their participation and urged party members to remain united, peaceful and committed to the party’s objectives.
He emphasised the importance of taking the administrations’ development scorecards to the grassroots and strengthening cooperation among APC stakeholders.
Similarly, the Chairman of Dandume Local Government, Hon. Bishir Sabi’u Gyazama, commended Governor Radda for initiating the Dandume Market modernisation project and granting financial autonomy to local governments, describing the initiatives as important steps towards grassroots development.
“Financial autonomy has strengthened our capacity to deliver services and address the needs of our people at the grassroots,” he said, while assuring the Governor of the continued support and cooperation of Dandume residents.
The event was attended by members of the Tinubu–Dikko 2027 Campaign Council, APC leaders and stakeholders, government officials, traditional rulers, community representatives and party supporters.
