Weekend Gist
If you had told me five years ago that I would one day gladly pay millions for a woman I once took on a 20k date, I would have laughed at you.
But that is the story of me and J-Baby.
I met J-Baby long before the BBL, long before the Instagram body, long before “business is no longer as usual.”
We met at a friend’s birthday party in Wuse 2 Abuja, She was not the loudest girl. She was in a simple black gown, slim, natural, with the most sincere laugh in the room. She wasn’t trying to seduce anyone, but her smile did it anyway.
We talked. We joked. We clicked. That night, I walked her to her car and she gave me her number with a line I will never forget: “Don’t call if you are boring.”
I was not boring. The next week, I took her out. My budget then was humble – shawarma, ice cream, and a long drive around Abuja at night where we parked and talked for hours. That was our “good time” back then. Pure, hilarious, romantic conversations. No price tag. Just two young people falling for each other.
She became my peace. My J-Baby. My person. If I had a small change, she understood. If I was broke, she would even say, “Don’t worry, we’ll manage.” Our love was sweet because it was simple.
Then, the world changed. Social media changed. Her friends changed. One by one, they were all going under the knife. Brazilian Butt Lift was the new language.
J-Baby started to feel insecure. “Mr Jagindi, don’t you think I need to package small?” she would ask, staring at her phone.
I told her she was perfect. But she had made up her mind. She wanted to feel more confident, more desirable.
She traveled, she did it, and she came back a different woman. The slim girl from Wuse 2 was now a walking head-turner. Hips, curves, everything sitting right.
And with that new body came a new confidence and a new condition.
I called for our usual good time, and that was when she dropped the bomb.
“My love, it’s no longer business as usual. To maintain this body costs money. If you want this good time now, it’s minimum 500k.”
I was heartbroken and angry. Not because of the money alone, but because the girl who once managed shawarma with me was now telling me about 500k. I felt like I had lost my J-Baby to the new body. I yelled, called it outrageous, and told her to stay away.
For almost two years, we were strangers.
Until that distress call came. Complications. Her BBL needed urgent maintenance.
I rushed to that private hospital in Asokoro, and the adventure humbled me.
I saw bills in millions of naira. I saw pain that no makeup could cover. I saw the brave girl behind the banging body crying because her body was fighting her.
In that hospital room, I held her hand and remembered the girl in the black gown from Wuse 2. The same girl. Only now she was paying a heavy price to meet the standard of beauty this world demands from women.
That day, my perspective changed.
I realized ladies with BBL deserve special consideration. Their journey is not easy. No amount a man pays them for a nice time should be considered outrageous, because we are only enjoying the final display, we didn’t pay for the pain, the risk, and the millions for maintenance.
Today, J-Baby is healed and more beautiful than ever. And yes, our good time is still 500k. Sometimes more.
But now I pay it with love, with respect, and with the full memory of where we started – from shawarma and long drives, to Asokoro hospital bills.
Because true romance is not about finding a perfect body. It’s about understanding the cost of the body you love.
