The Kebbi State Accord Party governorship candidate for the 2027 general polls, Muhammad Sani Abdullahi Bunza, has assured civil servants that he would pay them five hundred thousand naira as minimum wage due to the harsh economic conditions in Nigeria.
The candidate, who was addressing journalists on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi on the occasion of the ‘Correspondents Candidates Engagement Forum’, further stated that ten thousand naira would not meet the daily needs of a household, hence the need for a pay rise.
Bunza noted that heads of families have to cater for their households in the areas of food, healthcare, education and social responsibilities, stressing that, unfortunately, the take-home pay has fallen short of family needs.
He also stated that, when given the opportunity to serve as Kebbi State Governor, he would restructure the security architecture to achieve maximum results within a short time “to make everyone sleep with both eyes closed”.
The governorship candidate further stated that he would work tirelessly round the clock to improve the health and education sectors to make them beneficial to the common man, especially those living in rural areas.
Bunza said that, as a five-time governorship candidate, he was confident that Accord Party faithful would turn out en masse to vote him into office to establish the people-oriented democracy they deserve.
