The chairman of the Kebbi State Chapter of the Nigerian Legion, Ahmed Ibrahim Matawalle, has called on Nigerians, irrespective of their political and religious affiliations, to join hands with security operatives in the fight against insurgency by providing meaningful information about their movements and hideouts.
The Chairman made the call in Birnin Kebbi while speaking to journalists, adding that: “Security is not one man’s business. If you see something, say something. That’s how we keep our nation safe and vibrant.”
Matawalle noted that, as Nigeria marks a week of independence at 66, it is worthy of note to remind the younger generation that the military has contributed positively to the corporate existence of the country by paying the supreme price and will continue to do so.
He further stated that Nigerians have no other country than the one in which they now live, therefore calling on them to join hands to move the country forward economically, industrially, and politically, to rub shoulders with other developed nations.
The Chairman, however, thanked President Tinubu and Governor Idris for working tirelessly round the clock to bring lasting solutions to the current threats of insecurity ravaging the nation.
The Chairman urged the people to practise politics without bitterness as the country gears up for the electioneering process and the eventual polls in 2027.
