Abuja, Sept. 3, 2026 (NAN) A 20-year-old fish monger, Atiku Abubakar, was docked a Life Camp Magistrates’ Court in Abuja on Thursday for allegedly receiving stolen property.
The police charged Abubakar, Life Camp, Abuja, with receiving stolen property.
The Prosecution Counsel, Mrs. Charity Nwachukwu, told the court that on July 27 at about 1p.m., the complainant, Adegina Jamigu of ICS Junction by Mayor Oil, Life Camp Abuja, reported the matter at the Life Camp Police Station.
Nwachukwu informed the court that the complainant’s apprentice, Prince Mba, stole two tonnes of grain worth N190,000 from his shop and sold it to the defendant for N20,000.
The prosecutor said all efforts made to recover the said grains from the defendant failed.
The defendant however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Chief Magistrate Hauwa Aboki admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N300,000 and one surety in like sum.
Aboki further adjourned the matter until Sept. 16 for hearing. (NAN)
