Ibadan, Aug. 31, 2026 (NAN) Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, has assured women in the country of sustained economic empowerment initiatives and increased grassroots support under the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President Bola Tinubu administration.
The First Lady stated this on Monday in Ibadan during the official inauguration of the “Tinubu TorchBearer (TTB)” initiative, Oyo State Chapter.
She was represented at the event by the Minister of Women Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim.
According to her, several policies introduced by the President have begun to translate into real-life economic benefits for women and citizens across the country.
Tinubu said that the administration remains committed to programmes that uplift vulnerable groups, especially women and children.
The First Lady said that Nigerians would soon begin to reap the full benefits of the ongoing reforms in various sectors of the economy.
She added that the policies were designed to cushion hardship and create sustainable opportunities for families at the grassroots.
The wife of the President urged Nigerians to remain steadfast and continue to support the ideals of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
She further charged members of “Tinubu Torchbearer” in Oyo State to serve as ambassadors of the administration’s programmes by mobilising women and youths at the community level.
She said that their role would be critical in ensuring that the impact of government policies reaches every household.
Earlier, the APC women and TTB leader in Oyo State, Dr Felicia Opatunde, in her opening remarks, said that the initiative was to shed the light of hope, unity and renewed determination for the continuation of good works in every ward in the state.
She said that a vote for President Tinubu means support for continued infrastructural development and other good works by the current administration.
Opatunde urged women to vote massively for the President so as to secure the future of their children.
Also, APC governorship candidate in Oyo State, Sen. Sharafadeen Alli, reiterated that the results of various reforms, such as the student loan scheme and others, are evident.
He expressed optimism that President Tinubu would secure massive votes in Oyo State, noting that the citizens are ready to appreciate the various road projects approved for the state.
Grand Patron of TTB, Chief Dotun Sanusi, said that supporters at the grassrots in the state would deliver 90 per cent of the state’s votes to the President.
He said that the time has come for torchbearers to let the light of the good works of the President take over the administration of the government of Oyo State in 2027. (NAN)
