Warri(Delta), Aug. 24, 2026 (NAN) The Delta Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, has congratulated Mr Arthur Akpowowo and Felix Erhimedafe on their emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the 2027 Delta House of Assembly election.
Tonukari, in a statement on Monday, described the victories as a reflection of their grassroots acceptance, commitment to public service and demonstration of leadership qualities.
Recall that Akpowowo secured the APC ticket to contest the Ethiope East State Constituency seat, while Erhimedafe emerged as the party’s candidate for Abraka state constituency.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the APC primary elections for the newly restored Ethiope East State constituency and Abraka State constituency were conducted on Saturday.
The exercise followed the Independent National Electoral Commission’s directives.
The commissioner urged the APC members, leaders and stakeholders across the two constituencies to close ranks and work collectively for the success of the candidates in the 2027 general elections.
He said that emergence of the candidates offered the people of Ethiope East and Abraka, the opportunity to elect representatives capable of providing effective legislation and advancing development in their constituencies.
Tonukari, while wishing both candidates success in the general election, called on voters in the constituencies to support the APC at the polls. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
