The Onitsha Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ONICCIMA) has held its August 2026 Council Meeting at Vegas Astoria Hotel & Suites, opposite the Stock Exchange, GRA, Onitsha, Anambra State.
The meeting brought together members of the Council to deliberate on critical issues affecting the Chamber, review ongoing programmes and initiatives, and map out strategic plans aimed at strengthening ONICCIMA’s impact on the business community.
Discussions at the meeting also focused on measures to promote economic growth, support local enterprises and create a more conducive environment for businesses across Onitsha and the wider region.
After the meeting, Council members embarked on a guided tour of the facilities at Vegas Astoria Hotel & Suites.
The tour provided members with an opportunity to assess the hotel’s facilities, hospitality services and commitment to maintaining high standards in the hospitality industry.
The Council also acknowledged the hotel’s contribution to the growth of the hospitality and tourism sectors, as well as its role in supporting business activities, corporate engagements and social events in Onitsha.
The meeting and subsequent facility tour underscored ONICCIMA’s commitment to building strategic partnerships with businesses and other stakeholders while promoting local enterprises and sustainable economic development.
The Chamber reiterated the importance of collaboration between the private sector and relevant stakeholders in creating an enabling environment for investment, business expansion and job creation in the region.
