Bauchi Governor Mohammed receives signed 2026 FIFA World Cup match ball from Owen’s mother

The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, has received official match ball used in the 2026 FIFA World Cup match between Canada and Morocco, signed by members of the Canadian national football team.

The souvenir was presented by the wife of the Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Hajiya Abi Hafsat Sulaiman, in recognition of the Governor’s support for sports development and youth empowerment in Bauchi State.

She explained that her son, Owen Goodman, represented Canada at the tournament and facilitated the presentation of the signed ball on behalf of his teammates.

Receiving the gift on Monday at government house Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed described it as a symbol of friendship and sportsmanship, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to investing in sports and nurturing young talents.

While congratulating FIFA for successful hosting of the 2026 World Cup, commended Spain for their outstanding performance that led them to victory at the end of game. Governor Mohammed called for renewed efforts to strengthen Nigerian football and ensure that Super Eagles qualify for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

The State Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Adamu Babayo Gabarin, and other government officials witnessed the presentation ceremony.
