The Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and former Governor of Plateau State, Distinguished Senator Simon Bako Lalong, has warmly felicitated with his predecessor, former Governor of Plateau State and former Senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial District, Chief Joshua Chibi Dariye, on the occasion of his birthday.
Senator Lalong described Chief Dariye as a distinguished statesman, patriot and seasoned political leader whose contributions to the growth of democracy and the development of Plateau State and Nigeria have remained remarkable over the years.
Reflecting on their long-standing political relationship, Senator Lalong recalled that he had the unique privilege of serving as Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly for six years during Chief Dariye’s administration as Governor.
He said the cordial and productive partnership between the Executive and the Legislature during that period laid the foundation for many landmark achievements that positively impacted the lives of the people and strengthened democratic governance in Plateau State.
He also commended Chief Dariye’s subsequent service as Senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial District, noting that he continued to demonstrate quality leadership and a firm commitment to advancing the interests of Plateau State and Nigeria through purposeful legislation, advocacy and national service.
Senator Lalong said their relationship has endured beyond public office, as they continue to work together within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in promoting peace, unity, good governance and the overall progress of Plateau State.
He described Chief Dariye as a dependable leader whose experience, counsel and unwavering commitment to the collective interest of the people remain invaluable.
The former Governor appreciated Chief Dariye’s resilience, dedication to public service and steadfast belief in the unity and prosperity of Plateau State, expressing confidence that his wealth of experience will continue to benefit the state and the nation.
