Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has presented brand new Peugeot 206 cars to the Best Graduating Student of Al-Qalam University, Katsina, and the Gwana and Gwani who successfully memorised the Holy Qur’an.

The presentation took place at the Muhammadu Buhari House in Katsina and fulfilled the promise made by the Governor during the University’s 17th Convocation Ceremony.

Governor Radda said the reward reflects his administration’s commitment to recognising excellence and encouraging young people to work hard in both western and Islamic education.

He said outstanding performance should always be appreciated because it inspires others to give their best.

“We made this promise because we believe hard work and excellence deserve recognition. We want our young people to know that dedication to learning, good character and commitment to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an will always be encouraged by this administration,” the Governor said.

Governor Radda noted that education remains one of the major priorities of his administration, adding that the government will continue to support programmes and institutions that produce knowledgeable, disciplined and responsible citizens.

“Our investment in education goes beyond building schools and providing facilities. We also want to celebrate those who distinguish themselves through hard work, discipline and good moral values,” he added.

The Governor expressed confidence that the gesture would encourage more students to pursue academic excellence and deepen their knowledge of the Holy Qur’an.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries and the university community, the Vice-Chancellor of Al-Qalam University, Professor Nasiru Musa Yauri, thanked Governor Radda for fulfilling his promise. He described the Governor’s gesture as a source of encouragement to students across the institution.

“We sincerely appreciate His Excellency for keeping his promise. This reward will motivate our students to work harder in their academic pursuits and in the memorisation of the Holy Qur’an,” Professor Yauri said.

The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal; the Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; the Head of Service, Alhaji Falalu Bawale; the Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; members of the State Executive Council, local government chairmen and other dignitaries.
