2027: Peter Obi responds to reports of Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential ambition

Peter Obi has reacted to reports suggesting that former President Goodluck Jonathan may contest in the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking with journalists shortly after his screening in Abuja, Obi stated that he is not concerned about who chooses to run for office.

According to him, his main focus is on building a better Nigeria where every citizen has equal opportunities to succeed regardless of background or connections.

He explained that democracy allows individuals to present themselves for leadership and be chosen by the people through elections.

Obi also emphasized that his priority ahead of the 2027 election is to promote a united, secure, and prosperous Nigeria through inclusive governance based on the constitutional principle of federal character.

He added that Nigerians should be able to move freely without fear, while families should no longer live under the threat of insecurity and violence.
