Stakeholders, supporters, and aspirants of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State have been urged to avoid divisive statements capable of weakening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The call was made by the Pate Youths Ambassadors Initiatives (PYI), through its Director-General, Prince Sani Mohammed Hassan, during a Press conference addressed on Tuesday in reaction to the claim that the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Mohammed Ali Pate and former Governor Isa Yuguda are backing Ex-Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN for a return in 2027.

The PYI suggested that, internal disagreements should be resolved with maturity, respect, and loyalty to the party adding that, “The enemy is not within APC; the real task before us is to rescue Bauchi State and provide purposeful leadership for our people.”

He stated that, “We came across a press conference by Captain Bala Jibrin where he accused former Governor of Bauchi State, Dr. Mallam Isa Yuguda, and our leader and mentor, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, of allegedly trying to impose former Governor, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, as the APC Governorship candidate in Bauchi State.”

“Ordinarily, we would not have responded to such comments, but silence in some situations silence can be misunderstood. We therefore find it necessary to put the records straight before the good people of Bauchi State and APC supporters across Nigeria,” he added

Mohammed Sani Hassan added that, “First and foremost, it is disappointing and embarrassing for someone like Captain Bala Jibrin, who has a known history of anti-party activities against APC, to suddenly pretend to be a defender of democracy and party unity. Nigerians and members of APC in Bauchi State have not forgotten how he worked against our great party during the 2019 elections by openly supporting the PDP administration led by Senator Bala Mohammed. It is therefore surprising to see him today speaking as if he genuinely cares about the progress and unity of APC.”

He further stated that,”We want to clearly state that Professor Muhammad Ali Pate and Dr. Mallam Isa Yuguda remain respected leaders whose contributions to the growth and development of APC in Bauchi State and Nigeria cannot be denied. Their records of service, leadership, and commitment to humanity speak for themselves.”

According to him,”These are men who have dedicated their lives to building institutions, empowering youths, and ensuring development reaches the grassroots.”

He stressed that, “As loyal party members and youth activists, we strongly believe that APC’s major focus ahead of 2027 should be how to reclaim Bauchi State after spending eight years in opposition. This is not the time for baseless accusations, blackmail, or politics of bitterness. The people of Bauchi State are tired of propaganda and are ready for visionary leadership that can restore hope, development, and unity.”

He also stated that, “On the issue of Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, we want to state clearly that he remains one of the strongest and most experienced political figures in Bauchi State. Among all the aspirants currently aspiring for the governorship position under APC, he possesses the political structure, administrative experience, grassroots support, and leadership capacity needed to lead APC to victory in 2027.”

According to him,”If by the will of God and through a transparent democratic process, he emerges as the APC flag bearer, nobody can stop his destiny. Leadership comes from God, and the choice of the people must always be respected. No amount of intimidation or unnecessary media attacks can change that reality.”

The PYI DG added that, “We are also confident that leaders like Dr. Mallam Isa Yuguda and Professor Muhammad Ali Pate will never support any candidate who cannot win election or unite the party. Their political maturity, wisdom, and experience are assets to APC, and they remain committed to the success and progress of the party.”

The Pate Youth Ambassadors Initiatives (PYI) then reaffirmed its total loyalty and commitment to APC, stating, “We are fully prepared to mobilize youths across the 20 local government areas and 212 wards of Bauchi State to ensure victory for APC in the 2027 general elections. We believe in party supremacy, unity, and collective responsibility.”
