The Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed satisfaction with the unity, discipline, and overwhelming support demonstrated by party members and stakeholders at the All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus affirmation exercises held in Musawa and Malumfashi Local Government Areas.
The Governor gave the commendation while witnessing the affirmation of serving members representing Musawa/Matazu and Malumfashi/Kafur Federal Constituencies as APC consensus candidates for a second term in the House of Representatives.
The affirmed lawmakers are Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed (Dujiman Katsina) and Hon. Muhammad Aminu Ibrahim (Kafur), who were unanimously endorsed during separate consensus affirmation exercises held at their respective Local Government Secretariats in Musawa and Malumfashi.
In Musawa, Governor Radda, alongside key party leaders and stakeholders, formally presented Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed as the consensus candidate.
The endorsement followed the voluntary withdrawal and support of other aspirants, amid strong applause from delegates who reaffirmed his nomination for another term in the National Assembly.
The exercise in Musawa was attended by prominent party stakeholders, including the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hon. Hannatu Musa Musawa; Senator representing Funtua Zone, Senator Muntari Mohammed Dandutse.
Also Hon. Abubakar Badru Jikamshi; Dr. Malik Anas, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning; as well as other APC leaders and delegates who played key roles in strengthening the consensus process.
At the Malumfashi Local Government Secretariat, Governor Radda also presented Hon. Muhammad Aminu Ibrahim as the consensus candidate.
He was joined by the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman, alongside other key stakeholders, including the Director-General of Media to the State Governor, Maiwada Dammallam, who participated actively in the affirmation process.
The Chairman of the APC Consensus Affirmation Committee, Alhaji Garba Sale Gambo, described Katsina State as one of the most united states in the country in adopting consensus arrangements during party primaries.
He attributed the success to the purposeful leadership of Governor Radda, which he said continues to promote unity, discipline, and internal cohesion within the party.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Consensus Committee, Professor Kabir Ibrahim Matazu, disclosed that 169 delegates participated in the affirmation exercise, noting that the process was peaceful, transparent, and widely accepted by stakeholders.
The exercises attracted large gatherings of delegates, party officials, and stakeholders, who commended the orderly and peaceful conduct of the affirmation process.
