The Anambra State Government has denied allegations made by human rights lawyer, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, against the Governor’s Security Adviser, Mr. Ken Emeakayi, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a statement circulated by aides of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the government said a Fact-Finding Committee set up to investigate the allegations had completed its assignment and submitted its report on May 11, 2026.

The committee, chaired by the Attorney General of Anambra State, Tobechukwu Nweke (SAN), was mandated to investigate claims that Emeakayi had an improper relationship with Mrs. Mmasi Nwangwu, wife of jailed native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu, popularly known as “Akwa Okuko.”

According to the statement, the panel interviewed all parties connected to the matter, including Mr. Emeakayi, Mrs. Nwangwu, and legal representatives of the convicted native doctor.

The government also disclosed that several invitations were sent to Prof. Odinkalu, requesting him to provide evidence or disclose the source of his allegations through physical, virtual, or written responses. However, the committee claimed he failed to respond to any of the invitations.

After reviewing the testimonies and evidence presented, the committee reportedly found no proof of any personal or improper relationship between Emeakayi and Mrs. Nwangwu.

“The allegation is false and misleading,” the report concluded.

The state government further reaffirmed its commitment to due process, fairness, and the protection of public officials from what it described as malicious and unverified allegations.
