
FYDUPI commends defence minister, reaffirms commitment to national peace, security

The Forum for Youth Development, Unity and Peace Initiative (FYDUPI) has commended the Minister of Defence, General CG Musa (Rtd) for the warm reception extended to its delegation during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Defence in Abuja.
This is contained in a statement made by FYDUPI Chairman, Abdul Danbature,who led the delegation in collaboration with the Arewa Youth Assembly for Good Leadership (AYAGL), Ethnic Nationality Groups of Northern Nigeria, Christian Youth Alliance, and other affiliated civil society organisations, aimed at presenting a proposal to strengthen national security through coordinated youth and community engagement across Northern Nigeria.
He said ,during the presentation, he outlined strategic areas of collaboration with the Ministry, including promoting peaceful coexistence among communities and religions, uniting youth and women, supporting community ,based information sharing with security agencies, and empowering youths for productive engagement.
The delegation also highlighted efforts to strengthen grassroots peacebuilding, combat drug abuse among young people, and promote government and military achievements.
Danbature described the engagement as highly fruitful, reaffirming FYDUPI’s commitment to working closely with the Ministry of Defence and other stakeholders to implement community driven solutions that promote peace, unity, and development across Northern Nigeria.
“FYDUPI remains dedicated to fostering a safer, more united, and resilient Northern Nigeria through inclusive engagement and strategic collaboration,” he said
Responding, the Defence Minister expressed readiness to partner with FYDUPI and its affiliates, stressing the importance of peace, unity, and social cohesion.
He encouraged leveraging educational initiatives and social media platforms, including TikTok, to counter misinformation and promote positive societal values.
The visit culminated with the Minister presenting the delegation with an award in recognition of their initiative and its potential for sustained collaboration to enhance national security and social stability.(NAN)
