Nasarawa Amazons FC suffered a 2-1 defeat against FC Robo in their final NWFL Premiership 2026 regular season match at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

The game kicked off at exactly 1:00 PM and lived up to expectations, with both sides showing quality from the start. FC Robo took the lead in the 25th minute when Ayakayi finished brilliantly past goalkeeper Jennifer Ukam, making it 1-0 going into the break.

The second half started brightly for the Amazons, but just five minutes in, Adegbuyi doubled FC Robo’s lead by converting a fine delivery from the left flank, bringing the score to 2-0.

The Lafia Landladies responded with intensity, pressing high and creating chances. Their efforts paid off in the 75th minute when Ayatsea Hembafan calmly finished, reducing the deficit to 2-1.

Despite late pressure from Nasarawa Amazons and FC Robo’s push for a third goal, no further goals were scored, and the match ended 2-1 in favor of the Lagos side.

Both teams have already secured qualification for the NWFL Premiership Super Six, and attention now shifts to the upcoming challenges, including the President Federation Cup.

Coach Christopher Danjuma commented: “We used this game to test the strength of the squad and give opportunities to players who haven’t had enough playing time. Every game counts, and this is part of our preparation for the next competition.

As we head into the Super Six, we are focused on improving from last season. Goal scoring is a collective responsibility, and we are working across all areas of the team.”

Nasarawa Amazons finished second in Group B and will now look ahead to the Super Six showdown.
