The Kaduna Capital School Old Students Association (KADCAPSOSA), led by its President, Hajiya Rabi Saulawa, has commission a series of community development projects aimed at improving the learning environment and general wellbeing of students and staff of Kaduna Capital School.
Speaking during the commissioning and inspection, Saulawa said the projects including a newly completed solar powered borehole, whiteboards, student furniture, and earlier scholarship interventions reflect the association’s commitment to giving back to the school that shaped them.

She recalled that two weeks earlier, the association awarded 86 annual scholarships in addition to an initial 42, noting that alumni contributions had continued to expand in scope.
“Today we are here to commission some projects that old students have done in this school,” she said. “We have 30 three seater benches provided by the Class of ’72 (Primary Section) and 20 made by a single member of the Class of ’74. We also have five whiteboards donated by another member of the Class of ’72 and 20 more provided by Alhaji Muhammad Bashir Ahmed, likewise of the Class of ’72.”
Project Committee Chairman, Alhaji Munzali Dantata, lauded the collective effort of generations of former students from the 1950s to the 1970s who contributed to the project.
“We are all proud to have attended this school,” he said. “On behalf of all members, we hereby hand these items over to the school, and we hope they will be put to good use.”
In his remarks, the Principal of Kaduna Capital School, Mr. Yahaya Nuhu, expressed profound appreciation to the alumni for what he described as a “lifeline” intervention.
“With this solar powered system, our school will now enjoy reliable access to clean water, a safer environment for teaching and learning, and reduced electricity and maintenance costs,” he said.
He commended the donation of 50 sets of student chairs and 25 whiteboards, noting that the gesture would significantly enhance academic activities.
“Your contribution will forever remain a legacy,” he told the alumni.
Representing the Kaduna State Commissioner of Education, Assistant Director Hajiya Kadija Haruna praised KADCAPSOSA for an “excellent effort,” calling on other old students’ associations across the state to emulate the gesture.
“When old boys or old girls come together to support education, it is an effort everyone appreciates,” she said. “The Commissioner was glad to hear about it, and we pray others will partner with the ministry so that many challenges in our schools will be eased.”( NAN)
