Ona of Abaji Loses Wife: Royal Family Mourns Sudden Death

The Ona of Abaji, His Royal Majesty Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, Chairman of the FCT Traditional Council of Chiefs, has lost his wife, Hajiya Hadiza Adamu Baba Yunusa. She passed away on Friday at approximately 11:27 pm at Abaji General Hospital after being rushed there due to symptoms of fever and weakness.
According to Alhaji Salihu Kakamba, the chief of staff to the Ona of Abaji, Hajiya Hadiza walked into the emergency unit unassisted but suddenly collapsed while nurses were preparing to check her blood pressure. Doctors confirmed her death shortly after.
The royal household and the Abaji community are mourning her death, with traditional rulers and top government officials trooping to the palace to offer condolences. The funeral prayer, slated for 10 am today, is expected to be attended by dignitaries, including traditional rulers, government officials, and FCT Area Council chairmen.
