The Plateau State High Court 10 in Jos has taken a significant step towards justice in the Mangun community wedding massacre, remanding 20 suspects accused of killing 13 wedding guests. The suspects were arraigned before Justice Boniface Ngyon on four-count charges, including criminal conspiracy, causing grievous bodily harm, culpable homicide, and arson.

The incident occurred on June 20, 2025, when a group of wedding guests traveling from Kaduna State to Qua’an Pan LGA was ambushed by a mob in Mangun village. The attack resulted in 13 fatalities and several injuries, sending shockwaves through the community.

The court proceedings were marked by a delay due to the discovery that two of the accused were minors. The prosecution was ordered to amend the charge sheet, excluding the minors, and the case was adjourned to August 13, 2025. The 20 suspects were remanded in the Jos Correctional Centre pending further proceedings.

The Plateau State Police Command has assured the public that justice will be served, and all those responsible for the killings will be brought to book. The remand of the suspects is a significant step towards holding those accountable for the heinous crime.

Aluta News reports that the Mangun community wedding massacre has left a deep scar on the community, and the pursuit of justice is crucial for healing and rebuilding. As the case progresses, the community and the victims’ families will be watching closely, seeking closure and accountability for the tragic event.
