Women are Beacons of Hope” Minister’s Wife Praises NSCDC’s Special Female Squad

The wife of the Minister of Interior, Mrs. Abimbola Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has commended the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Special Female Squad (SFS) for their outstanding performance in carrying out their duties. Speaking at the SFS’s 4th Anniversary celebration, Mrs. Tunji-Ojo congratulated the squad on their successes, attributing their achievements to the exceptional leadership of the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi.
Mrs. Tunji-Ojo lauded Dr. Audi’s gender-sensitive approach to appointments within the NSCDC, stating that it demonstrates the capacity of women to function effectively alongside their male counterparts without fear or intimidation. She emphasized that women play a spectacular role in nurturing society and shaping future leaders.
The NSCDC CG revealed that the Female Squad has foiled over 48 kidnap attempts across the federation, showcasing their dedication to protecting schools and institutions. Dr. Audi reassured the public that the NSCDC would continue to leverage prompt and credible intelligence to forestall criminal attacks.
Mrs. Tunji-Ojo charged SFS personnel to be diligent and dedicated, emphasizing that they are peace makers, builders, and policy influencers. She urged senior officers to mentor junior female personnel, helping them develop leadership skills.
The SFS outstanding achievements underscore the NSCDC unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property, ultimately promoting a safer Nigeria.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards and goodwill messages from prominent figures, including:
– Dr. Chris Adigwu, President of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) and Dr. Olusola Okpodu, CEO of School Hunters and a major consultant with the United Nations
