The Arewa Youth Assembly For Good Leadership (AYAGL) has given Senator Godswill Akpabio a 48-hour ultimatum to reverse the suspension of Senator Natasha Uduaghan, threatening to occupy the National Assembly and stage mass protests if their demands are not met.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja, Ambassador Abdul Danbature, Speaker of AYAGL, condemned the victimization of senators from Northern Nigeria and demanded an immediate end to discriminatory practices. He also urged Senator Akpabio to abandon his selective justice approach and uphold fairness, equity, and justice for all senators.

“The allegations of sexual harassment made by Senator Natasha Uduaghan against the Senate President are disturbing and warrant immediate attention,” Danbature stated. “We demand a transparent, impartial probe, broadcast live to the nation, to ensure accountability and justice.”

Danbature reminded Akpabio that power, position, and influence are transient and can evaporate swiftly, cautioning him to reevaluate his leadership strategy and prioritize the interests of all Nigerians, including those from the North.

“We will not stand idly by while our leaders perpetuate impunity and silence,” Danbature warned. “We demand justice, accountability, and transparency. If our demands are not met within 48 hours, we will be forced to take to the streets in mass protests, demanding the resignation of Senator Akpabio and other leaders who have failed to uphold democracy and accountability.”

The Arewa Youth Assembly For Good Leadership vowed to continue advocating for the rights and interests of Northern Nigerians, ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns addressed.
