Today, we honor the birthday of a distinguished statesman, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, whose dedication and selfless service to Nigeria have inspired countless individuals. As a pioneer in the fight against corruption, Ribadu’s achievements are noteworthy. During his tenure as the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from 2003 to 2007, he achieved about 270 convictions, including that of his boss, the then Inspector-General of Police, Tafa Balogun.
Ribadu’s commitment to justice and fairness has earned him numerous accolades. He was appointed as the National Security Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, a position that underscores his expertise and dedication to nation-building .
Ribadu’s leadership and legacy are truly inspiring. As the first Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), he brought unprecedented bravery and integrity to the fight against corruption in Nigeria.
Under his tenure, the EFCC recovered billions of stolen funds and prosecuted high-profile cases that had long seemed untouchable.
