FORMER TARABA GOVERNOR, DARIUS ISHAKU, ARRESTED BY EFCC OVER ALLEGED N9.3BN FRAUD

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken former Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku into custody in Abuja. This move follows allegations of misappropriating N9.3 billion.
EFCC Spokesperson Dele Oyewale verified the arrest but withheld further details.
Darius Ishaku, the former governor of Taraba State, is in hot water over some serious allegations. He’s been accused of misappropriating a whopping N9.3 billion in state funds, which is a clear breach of trust, The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been investigating him and has even detained him in Abuja.
Ishaku will face 15 charges, including criminal breach of trust and misappropriation, alongside Yero
This is part of the EFCC’s efforts to combat corruption and promote accountability within Nigeria’s public sector.
It’s worth noting that Ishaku had initially been invited by the EFCC immediately after leaving office but couldn’t make it due to health reasons . However, he later reported to the EFCC office in Abuja and was detained but later released on bail
