Do Not Take Any Time for Granted, Retiring Comptroller Umar Urges Officers

Mohammed Umar, the retiring Comptroller of the Katsina Command, has urged officers not to take any time for granted.

Compt Umar made this statement during his retirement send-off ceremony on Tuesday at the Zone “B” Kaduna Zonal Office in Kabala.

He reflected on how the service had significantly shaped his life and career.

Having served for 35 years, Umar described his experience as invaluable and irreplaceable by money.

He recalled the challenging yet rewarding nature of his career, acknowledging that time had made his responsibilities easier to manage.

“Retirement is often described as a bittersweet moment,” he noted. “It involves leaving behind friends while embarking on a new journey.

“Umar expressed his deep appreciation for the companionship and friendships he had formed within the service, emphasizing that these bonds would last a lifetime.

He also thanked CGC Bashir Adeniyi for the opportunity to serve as the Area Comptroller of the Katsina Command and expressed gratitude to his colleagues and the Zone for their kind words and the honor of the send-off ceremony.

Earlier, the Zonal Coordinator of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Zone “B” Kaduna, ACG Sambo Dangaladima, praised Compt. Umar as a straightforward and hardworking officer.

He mentioned that they would continue to seek Umar’s expertise for problem-solving.

Dangaladima prayed for a fulfilling retirement for Umar, asking Allah to guide and protect him and his family.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that all the comptrollers from the zone praised Compt. Umar for his commitment to the service and his colleagues.

They highlighted his passion for helping others and prayed for God’s guidance and continued excellence in his life.(NAN)
